MVEC provides reliable electric service to 46,400+ meters across a 968-square-mile service area, in portions of nine counties: Blue Earth, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Sibley, and Waseca, including residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial, and recreational accounts.
Utility boundaries are set by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Sometimes residents in the same neighborhood may be served by different utility companies, based on those boundaries.
