Protecting Your Account Information through a Secure Logon The only way that you will be allowed to access your billing account information is by providing your e-mail address and a password that you have personally set up with us.
Consent to Electronic Communication If you select any optional services from MVEC that include an email or electronic text notification or other communications, it is your responsibility to provide MVEC with a valid email address and/or a valid number assigned to your mobile phone or other device, and you understand and agree that MVEC will use that email address and/or mobile device number for delivery of electronic notifications and other communications. It is also your responsibility to update that email address and/or mobile device number, to ensure proper delivery of electronic communications to you. Failure to do so promptly could result in the interruption of important communications and could adversely affect your MVEC utility account and MVEC’s ability to provide services to you. Your email address and/or mobile device number can be changed on MVEC’s website, or by using any contact methods set forth on the website.
Electronic Payment through Third-Party Service You consent to receive all communications relating to your MVEC Account in electronic form when you utilize electronic bill payment through a third party servicer or your bank. The communications covered by your consent include your billing statement, any disclosure required by federal or state law and any modifications to the contract that governs your account or related change in terms notices. Communications may include your name and some information about your account, including your balance or the due date. Electronic communications may be disclosed to any party with access to your electric or e-mail account or hardware or software used to view your electric or e-mail account. Any legally-required insert that would not be available electronically will be sent to you by U.S. mail. You may choose to receive paper statements, in addition to electronic notifications, when you are enrolled in MVEC’s online bill presentment and payment service at www.mvec.net.
By providing your consent to electronic communications at this website, you confirm that you can receive and access electronic communications.
How to Withdraw Your Consent After your request has been submitted, if you wish to withdraw your consent to receive electronic communications, you may un-enroll by accessing the web page of the third party bill payment servicer of your bank. We will not impose any fee to process the withdrawal of your consent to electronic communications. However, you will not be able to receive your MVEC billing statements and any inserts electronically if you do not consent to receive electronic communications or withdraw your consent. Any withdrawal of your consent to electronic communications will be effective only after there has been a reasonable period of time to process your withdrawal request.
